Hope Springs Eternal

This is the entrance to Hopes Close on the Royal Mile. The only thing I could find out about Hopes Close is that it dates back to the 1500's and has been closed off for many years.

I stood for ages taking lots and lots of photographs of this door. I love doors you see. I don't know why and I'm not sure what it tells you about me. Is it about the entrance or perhaps the exit? Who knows. Anyway, this photograph is for me. It's my indulgence and I hope you like it too.

Oh and for me, hope always springs eternal.............
