Tornado

Visited Llangollen and the Dee valley today. There is a special steam 9 day gala on with visiting engines such as the A1 Tornado which is only 4 years old having been built from scratch by a group of dedicated volunteers and Enthusiasts. Why build it ? because none of the A1 class made it into preservation. We didn't ride the trains today but walked by the line taking pictures and dodging the showers. Got chatting to some of the drivers at a passing loop while they were waiting for a down train. They were far from being geeks or weirdos but genuinely passionate about their engines and they are not all men!
