Long legs, daddy

This morning, I was so intent on looking at this view that I almost rested my elbow on this daddy longlegs.

According to Wikipedia, the daddy longlegs - or crane fly - is also known as a mosquito hawk, skeeter eater, gallinipper, gollywhopper, and jimmy spinner.

Apparently 14,000 different species have been described - 75% of them by one man: Charles Paul Alexander. Which I guess makes him the daddy longlegs daddy.
