And so, after three weeks in Scotland, with two on St Kilda, it's time to head back to Sheffield, driving down the M6 through Cumbria.

My boyfriends trusty Nissan Almera only broke down once (outside Gretna) and the electrics only failed once (on the Snake Pass at night in pouring rain).

Sigh!
