Rambling daily

By Ramblingfree

That feels good!

A thoroughly varied day. The weather was ok early but threatening wind and rain so possibly not good for boating. Still after doing some exercise and having breakfast we optimistically went to the boat where predictably, after getting petrol on and covers off, it started to rain. We did manage to retrieve the missing mooring bouy so all not lost...suffice to say covers quickly went back on!

The second thing on the agenda was a walk so we gave up and headed for Barton to look for the last of bluebells. Again before we started it chucked it down so badly that we decided on option three which was a trip to Lymington to look at things we need for a sailing holiday...and bonus a lunch out.

Having sheltered from the torrents in Lymington we headed home but the weather was cheering so I suggested a trip down to Keyhaven and the shingle spit to Hurst Castle. It was blowing a hooley so no one was about, the waves were spectacular and as ever it was beautiful. D had the sense to suggest we walked on the inland side to shelter from the wind. The tide was out and on the way back we briefly tried walking along the top before dropping down to the shelter. We had a lovely walk, D took photos and there were lots of birds about including this turnstone who had just had a fine time bathing in one of the small ponds left at low tide.

Home now feeling relaxed and exercised at least with the knowledge that should the sun come out there is petrol in the boat for another time.
