Stones

Why am I drawn to collecting stones - these are from Scotland and Ireland? I have them from nearly every beach I have visited - not good for my green credentials I know but I can't help myself.

Stones - when does a pebble become a stone? When does a stone become a rock? Is it a stone when it fits into your fist to throw in anger but a pebble when its skimmed across the water? A rock when its dropped from a height?
Got to pondering stones and the earth - most of us will return to dust one way or another but these stones contain creatures who became stone not dust and remain forever in the rocks.
