Cityscpae Abu Dhabi

Cityscape has been the annual meeting point for key real estate investors, developers, regional and city investment promotion authorities, architects, designers and other real estate professionals to drive growth in real estate investment and development across emerging markets globally.

I remember in the past when this event buzzed; today it is a bit flat with perhaps a few hundred people, and some old tired models that have been gathering dust on the shelves, taken out for another year.

For me the most imprsssive display was of the Abu Dhabi vision for 2030, I have indicated on the location map if I were very tall where this photo would be taken in real life.

Some quotes from the website:

Cityscape Abu Dhabi has opened here yesterday, at a time when the UAE's property market is flooded with housing units. The four-day event, which will continue till Wednesday, is dubbed as the annual barometer for the Abu Dhabi and wider GCC real estate market, where investors gather to learn about the latest market trends and updates of many of Abu Dhabi's master developments.

Leading government agencies including Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council's (UPC) emirate-wide urban development strategy are displaying their initiatives in line with Vision 2030, and the Emirati Housing initiative, where 7,500 new homes for Emirati families across all three regions of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Gharbia have been showcased.

Some of the other key developers taking part this year at Cityscape Abu Dhabi include Tamouh Investments, Sorouh, Aabar Properties, Mubadala, and the Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), which will provide updates about the progress of its most prestigious developments, with a major emphasis on Saadiyat.
