The aft before a night

I often find it difficult to know what to do before I start a night shift. Do I laze around and do nothing and 'conserve' my energy?

Instead we dodged the showers and strolled along the river bank hoping to get some good photo opportunities from the resident wild life. They proved very elusive so instead it was the winding path leading me home that provided today's photo blip.
