Pricking out...

This blip is from Scottish Autism's adult service Gartinny Nursery. Here's a description of some of the work that goes on there from the Scottish Autism website...

Gartinny Nursery is based in the rural setting of Coalsnaughton and offers Horticultural Therapy. It is open to members of the public.
Individuals who receive support at Gartinny are encouraged to develop their horticultural skills within this environment and are fully involved in every process, from planting seeds to customer service.
Staff at Gartinny have a wealth of experience, in not only supporting individuals with autism but also in horticulture, and are highly motivated to share this with the individuals they support.
Those supported at Gartinny are currently working in partnership with Nick Nairn's Cook School to maintain and develop a herb garden.
Gartinny also operates a Garden Maintenance service which provides individuals with the opportunity to develop gardening skills and the service has a number of regular, paying customers.
Within Gartinny, individuals also have the opportunity to develop woodwork skills through the furniture restoration project.

As you can see from the photo, service users have a great time at Gartinny...
