My life, my lens

Granville Island

Today was one of the most relaxing days I've had in a long time. We walked from the hotel to False Creek. On route Matt had to put up with me reliving my last visit to Canada when I travelled on my own for three weeks.

Its been a beautiful, mild sunny day and we took a water taxi over to Granville Island Indoor Markets. The markets have a great range of fresh produce and local crafts and the displays are great. The area is so chilled out and we spent the morning strolling around listening to buskers, eating and enjoying the sunshine and views.

We then took another water taxi over to Yaletown and walked along the waterfront before heading into the city to wander around the shops. We are both suffering from jet-lag having woken up at 4am this morning so we went back to the hotel for a quick nap.

There has been a major ice hockey game on tonight at the Rogers Stadium between the local team the Vancouver Canucks and the Los Angeles Kings. Everyone is wearing hockey shirts and the stadium was buzzing with atmosphere when we walked past earlier. We did try and get tickets but they were really expensive so we watched it on TV. Unfortunately the Canucks lost but it was a good game.

We had dinner at a local Thai restaurant that the concierge recommended and the food was amazing.
