The fish are running

The locals know when the fish are running in Fremantle Harbour.

On a day when the US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson is in port you would expect the harbour to be very active.

There was however hardly a boat on the harbour, perhaps due to the fact that the carrier was moored quite a long way out to sea.

The fisherman were out in force and taking vantage points along vacant parts of the wharf, looking across the harbour to the cranes used at the Fremantle container port.
