Pinchgut Island

Fort Denison, in the middle of the main opening of Sydney Harbour, was built to house particularly recalcitrant prisoners. Known as Pinchgut because they were kept on very low 'number five' rations, it is now, ironically I suppose, a tourist destination whose main feature is a restaurant, marketed as 'an extraordinary place to entertain, celebrate, relax and reflect'.

Rhymes with venison.
