Laundry

This is a poignant picture because 27 years prior to this I was a 19 year old lad making his way at university. I used to use these same washing machines and dryers.

I had left home and come to study in Colchester. It seems everyday now but was a big adventure then as I left the protective umbrella of life in a northern town.

I had no concept then that 25 years later I would be living not only in the same town, having left after my degree, but would have helped create two truly wonderful people; Lois and Oscar.

There is something both magical and surreal when we walk over to Essex University.
