Spring fling- life on Balhaldie farm

This afternoon I visited the home of artist Sarah Spofforth-McQuat, just north of Dunblane, to deliver some brochures for our Open Studios event.

Sarah, a dentist daughter from Cheshire, lives on Mains of Balhaldie farm. For today she has a new life as a busy farmers wife in Scotland for she is also the mother of two and a practicing artist.

She trained as an interior designer in Manchester but found the work stifled her creativity.

Here in Scotland she has her own purpose built studio adjoining sheds housing her "models" for Sarah specialises in cattle portraits.

It is a life she loves and she has no regrets about leaving the city behind.

While I was there her husband arrived with a new lamb to join the wee flock of pet lambs already in the barn. Meanwhile toddler Archie is more interested in those running around the nearby field.
