clearing

It always worries me when people start cutting down trees and clearing big areas - it never seems to lead to great design or attractive buildings. Certainly not in Romford where the majority of new buildings are somewhere between a 1950's toilet block and a cold war housing estate in Eastern Europe.

To the left of this devastation is a rather nice old pub. Formerly the Woolpack, it was a boarded up club when I moved here.

I wonder if this site will become a new super store or if it is destined to be some more shops with flats above like the ones recently put up in the Market Place which were very obviously by a graduate from the Charles Windsor school of architecture - bland, badly proportioned and characterless
