Stroller and Strummer

I'd dropped Carl off to catch the DART home and took a sudden notion on my own way home to stop off at almost the same spot as yesterday. The light was fading fast, but I just about managed to catch this moment on the river front. It's taken a fair bit of post-processing work to clean it up and get it looking blip-ready, but it's been fun doing it. It didn't look as if the guy with the guitar was actually busking, and the guy passing by definitely had no intention of rewarding him for his labours. Perhaps the musician felt just felt a sudden urge to sit down and strum on his guitar -- just like I did to get a blip in the can.

All this was the close of a day which began had earlier been devoted to watching the Singapore Grand prix, the first F1 race to be run under lights. It was a total success. The commentators had warned us not to expect much any overtaking, and said the race would be decided in the pit lane. They were wrong with the first bit, but got the second part spot on. What on earth is wrong with Ferrari these days! Today's pit madness, with race-leader Felipe Massa driving away with the fuel hose still attached to his car and then having to sit there for what seemed like an age before the crew woke enough and raced down the pit lane to sort things out -- this was a clear case of a team snatching defeat from the jaws of certain victory. So now Lewis Hamilton is seven points ahead of Mass with three races remaining. As the commentators pointed out over and over and over again, he can finish second to Massa in all three races and still win the Championship. Apart from Ferrari's woes, we were delighted to see Fernando Alonso win.

Race over, it was time to head across town for afternoon tea with the guy whose new place we're going to at the end of October. We head off on Tuesday 21st October, spend two nights in Valetta and another two nights on Gozo itself, fitting in an opera on the Thursday. The whole thing has been arranged for ages now. This afternoon's get-together of the whole gang who are going (five of us traveling to join up with Fergus) was a very pleasant interlude and brought the whole thing nicely into focus. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

I've back-blipped Reflected dockland from yesterday. Only two blips left now before I reach my 500th.
