Between fen and mountains

The avenue

This one is that maybe Veronica will appreciate, being a great blipper of avenues of plane trees. These are typically French and many were planted in Napoleonic times. I love their appearance but hate driving down them at night in much the same way I dislike driving down Lincolnshire fen roads with deep dykes at each side. One patch of black ice or a swerve for any reason can spell disaster. I find the effects of the headlamps on the trees at night quite eerie too.
