Snowy Egret in breeding plumage

During the trip to High Island we were able to visit a Rookery. A rookery is an island where these birds go to mate and nest. It is surrounded by water and alligators. The birds know that no predators can get to them. If you ever get a chance to see a rookery, it is a sight to see. This is a Snowy Egret displaying in breeding plumage.
