Is it going to rain?

The answer is yes during the last few days. This was taken at Budleigh Salterton, on a walk from Exmouth. Here John Millais lived for a while and painted his famous picture The Boyhood of Raleigh, using the seafront as a setting. Raleigh was born not far away. It once had one of the highest death rates in the country, not because it was unhealthy-far from it-but because of the very high proportion of retired people in its population. There are lovely little shops here including old fashioned outfitters with window displays of wincyette pyjamas, and cafes with names like The Tea and Tittle-Tattle, as well as a beach where clothing is optional. No evidence of that today though due to goose pimpley weather.
