Oh well it had to be done and it's the weekend YAY. Blip challenge for this week is 'Drink' - 'nuff said. This is the residual liqueur from the Sloe gin that we made two years ago. After the premier liqueur has been fermented, the fruits can then be covered with white wine to produce another more delicately flavoured drink. The colour is not nearly so intense but it tastes very pleasant. We couldn't find any sloes at all in 2011 and wondered whether the extremely cold winter previously had damaged the crop.

Weather doesn't look too bad for tomorrow, but for anyone doing the Manchester Marathon on Sunday its looking pretty dire. Enjoy the weekend, whatever you're
