Floral Art : Harrogate Flower Show

Thank goodness for tentage because the weather men got it horribly wrong and on what was supposed to be a grey but dry day, the heavens opened on us at the Harrogate Flower Show - widely regarded as the UK's biggest and most prestigious independent gardening event.

In a similarly thankful manner .... there wasn't much to photograph outside but inside was a paradise of colour and texture!! It's been hard to select the photo I'm sharing with you today and it ended up being a chpice between this and a rather resplendent ornamental bonsai tree offset against a scarlet background. However, given that the Floral Art tent captivated me the most, it seemed only fitting that I punt for one of the shots I took at that point.

The Harrogate Spring Flower Show hosts the UK's largest floral art marquee with more than 160 painstakingly prepared, beautiful and intricate works of art created by areas of NAFAS, flower clubs, colleges and individuals and it was a truly stunning array of individual works of art, together with a special display of the Japanese style of floral art, Ikebana, and a spectacular large scale exhibition themed 'From Olympia to London' by The Yorkshire Flower Club.

I just hope my shot does it justice!
