A Night at the Opera House

Day 4 in Oman

A tricky choice for my blip photo today. In the morning we went on a boat trip where we were lucky enough to see dozens of wild dolphins swimming and jumping. Incredible, but difficult to take a picture of!

The boat trip also took us to an area where we could go snorkelling. I just missed seeing a turtle but just seeing the rest of the fish and coral in the area was brilliant! You could hear the first middling on the coral while you swam, a constant crackling.

The last leg of the trip took us along the Muscat coastline showing some amazing geology (yes, that is my kind of thing, although I think most would be impressed seeing it).

We had lunch at a small beach area. Yet again the food was excellent, just want we needed after a morning on the water.

We popped into the supermarket for a few supplies for the next few days and some bits for taking home before heading back to get ready for a night out at the Muscat Opera House, the only opera house in the Middle East. The building itself is incredible, the inside is so detailed and is just stunning, I wish I would have been allowed to take a few pictures.

La Scala symphony orchestra from Milan were playing for one night only and it's was simply brilliant, we loved every moment of it, it finished too quickly! Definitely a perfect venue to see your first symphony orchestra!
