Mad Ramblings Of An Idiot

A break in the weather

I like sundays in France. Most of the shops are closed, and there's not many people about.

This splendid structure is the church (La Colliegiale St Pierre to give it it's full name) in the centre of Le Dorat (about 10 minutes from where we are). Built in the 11th and 12th century it boasts a crypt (might go back for that) and an octagonal bell tower (that's 7 + 1 sides for all you fans of Terry Pratchett). Le Dorat also has medieval town walls and a magnificent gate into the town on the south west side (kindly blipped here by Mrs B).

Today being mostly showers, we broke our weather induced house arrest and went out in search of something different to blip. We even managed to sit outside and watch the clouds go past, an activity which is much improved with a bottle of rose wine.

If I ever win the lottery, I'd seriously consider moving here (you're all invited to come visit)

Now, the baked Camembert is cooling, and the second bottle of wine needs some attention....

PS: I've had to edit this quite a bit after sobering up a little
:o)
