Mixed Up

Yorkshire Puddings (to serve 6)

Ingredients:

4 Tablespoons Plain Flour
2 Medium-Sized Eggs
Pinch of Salt
A bit of milk ... hmm, about that much
A bit more water than the amount of milk, unless you like them soggy

Directions:

1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl, and make a small dent in the middle of the flour.
2. Add the eggs and mix with the flour, adding water and milk to keep the mixture just the right kind of runny.
3. Get impatient, then whizz up the whole thing with a hand blender.
4. Pre-heat the oven to about 200 degrees, then put the batter into pre-heated greased tins. Cook for about 30 minutes (or is it 20?) but do not open the oven door "just to check" otherwise they'll be flat as pancakes.

All of which highlights the problem of writing down recipes learnt at your mother's knee: they're just a bit approximate.

Still, I'm sure my puds'll turn out fine. Probably.
