Stawamus Chief, Squamish

Going up The Chief was definitely a hike rather than a walk. On the way down, when I could actually breathe again we decided that a hike is when you have to look at where you put your feet and a walk is over gentler ground.

It was really steep going up, some sections were chained to help you up the slippery granite rock. At the top of the second peak we sat and had lunch and we were joined by little cheeky chipmunks! They were too fast for me to capture in a photo but they weren't shy of trying to nab your food. We also saw Steller's Jay which is apparently the provincial bird of British Columbia.

We got home late totally shattered. With nothing in the fridge to eat we went to the new and very popular pizza place near by. We had pizzas that were cooked for just 90 seconds in a 900 degree oven. Wow!
