Waiting for the Queen to arrive in Salisbury

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited Salisbury today on their Diamond Jubilee tour. With only half an hour before their arrival, the crowds were building all the way along Fisherton Street and the High Street. Most people were in good spirits but as usual for Salisbury, there's always the grumpy ones.......I've lived in quite a few places and it's called 'Smallsbury' by outsiders for a good reason!
Anyway, the Royal party duley arrived on time and drove past us all, the Queen wearing a deep pink wool coat and matching hat, looking very regal as I suppose you might expect.
I was able to see her on her Silver Jubilee year in 1977 but it was lovely to catch a glimpse of her again with the Duke by her side. They are an amazing couple no matter whether you support the monarchy or not.
Having seen Princess Anne twice and Princess Diana once in St Paul's (she really did look stunning) as well, I think the royal family does a good job and they are trying much harder to move with the times these days.
So I took a picture of the crowd and managed to video 12 seconds of HRH et al driving past. Even the weather brightened up for the royal visit and there's been no rain for..... at least four hours!
