Soldier's Rock

This stack is in the south-west corner of Islay. Mrs. P is lying down to take a picture because neither of us felt brave enough to stand on the cliff edge.

This was a truly remarkable day. We saw standing stones, feral goats, a defended promontory, huge collapsed sea caves, a dun, razorbills and black guillemots. Any one of these would be the highlight of a day's walk, but these were all within a couple of Km. We walked over an arch so big we didn't recognise it until we looked back from the next headland. Oh, and this stack too!
