Ticked off the list...

Took a wee trip out to Edinburgh today to A) Fulfill another "Edinburgh must do sometime", in Dynamic Earth and B) Complete last weeks "Must do sometime", in seeing at least a bit more of the Museum. I say "a bit more" as you could spend a week and not see everything.

Dynamic earth was reallly good, nicely done, recommend at least one visit to anyone. It was made all the better by the fact that we had a free ticket for it. Not entirely sure if the ticket price would impact on the experience.

Whilst down there, I also got my first decent outside look at the parliment buildings. That is another "Edinburgh must do sometime" visit. Apparently you can do a tour of the parliment. There may have been a big coffufful (sp?) about the over spend on the buildings, but it is very impressive as a piece of architechture, lots of wonderful angles and oddities. Kinda like looking at a "Where's Waldo?" picture. Each time you look at it, you notice something different.

Onto the museum and we decided to opt for a free guided highlights tour which I highly recommend as they show you things you might just pass by or completely miss things that are some of their more significant exhibits. Took a wee trip up to the roof terrace to see the view but also to get a panorama to try out the planeting thing that Wingpig demonstrated. As a side, that Autostitch program you mentioned WP, it is astounding!! I just opened the 3 pictures I took and it jimmy'd them together. I didn't realize programs had been written that could do that so easily and the technique is ridiculously easy.

Anyway, this is fountain in the middle of the old part of the Museum. This is another "want to learn" techniques, fast shutter liquid shots.
