Sunny Mile

Can you believe the weather in Edinburgh today! Pure gorgeous. This rather hazy shot was taken while striding up the Royal Mile - home to the Scottish Storytelling Centre, the Writers' Museum and the Scottish Book Trust to name but a few literary highlights - after an enjoyable meeting at the British Council and an impromptu drop in to the Scottish Poetry Library.

In other news, Ian Rankin was on BBC 6 Music talking about - among other things - Edinburgh's famous paper sculptures. And the skirt I have chosen to wear today has been likened to a hot balloon and a deck chair.
