The River Runs Wild

Been at my local lunchtime river spot every day this week. The river is up up up up!

I recently got given a new swish pair of binoculars (or field glasses as my mother insists on calling them). As a result I haven't carried my camera about much.

Some of the things spotted this week at the river.

Grey Heron
Grey Wagtail
Swallow
Sand Martin
Goldfinch
Kestrel

and a Common Sandpiper (first for me at this spot). Just passing through on it's way to more interesting locations obviously.

So typically, without the camera the whole world shows up. On the other hand, a simple pair of bins was a refreshing change and I saw so much more without having to be looking for "the shot".
