Housewife's Choice

It's Been a Hard Week ....

For Little B and Little R. Friday night bought them both forty winks on the sofa. Little R has revived enough to take herself off out to the pub for the evening as youngsters do :) She's been working long hours in her first "proper" job and it's been so nice to see her off to work each morning with a will.

No blip for yesterday. I'm lacking in any inspiration lately but apart from that, Little B had a minor accident (yes, another!) and I was feeling a bit defeated by the evening. I took him for a walk in the woods in the afternoon and he was set upon by a large Lurcher who bowled him over again and again as though he were a toy. Anyway, I only hear the owner call it a couple of times and she didn't even apologise or hang around to see if Boden was okay. I picked him up and cuddled him as he shook with fright and saw that large drops of blood were falling from his front paw. Anyway, to cut a long story short, £40 lighter, the vet says it's his nail bed thats been ripped and he had a pain killing injection and has been limping ever since. Hope it heals fast as it must be very sore.

Today I took him back to the RSPCA where we got him from to do a doggy school class. I felt that we weren't getting anywhere with the one I had him booked on as it was taking too long for him to have a turn at doing anything and whilst he was waiting he was getting over excited at the number of dogs there and he became very wound up because he wasn't allowed much play time with all those lovely mutts. He couldn't understand why he was being kept from them. Finally, I realized that other owners were sitting away from us as he was quite disruptive, continually enticing their dogs to come and play with him! It seems that terriers need to be working all the time with no hanging around and certainly this suited him/me much better today so we'll continue with this as he's now way behind in the training stakes ;)
