Children's Day in Japan

As Golden Week continues in Japan, today is Children's Day, where the country celebrates their children, especially boys (don't worry, there is also a special day for girls called Hina-matsuri). There are displays of carps nobori everywhere, to represent wishing the children to grow up strong like the koi who swim in the rivers and ponds.

We were going to go to Kamakura today, but my fiancee woke up feeling sick, so we went to the doctor's and she got a prescription. After lunch, she was feeling much better and wanted to go out, so we went to the Showa Kinnen Park in Tachikawa. This park is really huge, and we must have walked at least 4 kms just going around it. There were a lot, and I mean, a lot of people out there today.... But, we had a good time and most importantly, my fiancee is feeling much better (she is in bed behind me napping like a cat!).

So, happy Children's Day to you all from Japan :)
