Newborough ponies

Doffy took me on an adventure today after dropping off some of her plants & seeds at the NSPCC plant sale, (we didn't come away empty handed) we went to Newborough Warren which is SW of the island, part of a 1585acre nature reserve which includes sand dunes , forest, saltmarshes & beaches.

These are a few of the many ponies that are grazing there, also lots of wild flowers, see Doffys blip

The warren gets it's name from the thousands of rabbits that colonised it but the numbers dropped in 1950s, we only saw one today but plenty of holes so I think there's still a few around.

We also came across a metal detector man whose machine started bleeping furiously as we passed by, didn't see him dig up any treasure though.

Had a nice lunch out at the local farm shop cafe.

Thankyou for a nice day out Doffy.
