English bluebells

Went to Weston Park for the 'Bluebell Walk'. Walk was great, if a little challenging, plenty of history thrown in. The bluebells were spectacularly unimpressive - most of them weren't open yet. It isn't a good year for them apparently ! Visited the plant fayre (with a 'y' - oooh aah) and bought some wild flowers for my meadow (teasel, cowslip, oxeye daisy, wild garlic and honesty - lovely).
Pootled around in the garden this afternoon (that means I didn't get much of anything done). Had another wooosh strike from the sparrowhawk (6ft from me) and observed the first-born sparrow baby struggle to lift its head!
Thought the bluebells were a tad uninteresting so applied a bit of artisticness!
See you tomorrow! :)

Ps the head gardener told us the difference between English and Spanish bluebells. English have all the flowers on one side of the stem and thus the stem tends to arch over gracefully. Spanish have flowers all the way round and the stem is stronger so it is more 'upright'. Both types have white and pink variants.
