The experimental flock

This is one of our Black Welsh Mountain ewes and her lamb, born this morning. They are very small sheep, but strong and wild as thunder. They are one of the only British breeds whose black fleece is genetically dominant - next year we'll put this ewe lamb to a Gotland ram to produce a lamb with long, lustrous, and hopefully dark coloured fleece.
