The back markers!

We've completed the nine mile as the designated back markers on the Thurgoland Boundary Walk. Approximately 140 people set off, which was down on our 200+ of last year. Here we are approximately two and a half miles from our pie and peas (final destination - The Bridge Inn). T was very keen to complete the whole walk, but another half mile further on we managed to persuade him to get into one of our support vehicles with Ann (she has tendonitis and he is no longer as well as he once was). Apparently he's been a walker and biker all of his life and was one of the people who committed the mass trespass on Kinder Scout which led to a change of law and the right to roam. The other three of us managed a little quicker progress after they left us but we were still very late in getting out pie and peas. I think slow walking takes it out of you more than simply being able to walk at your natural pace.

Showered and clean we're now taking it easy.
