The Old Telephone Museum

This is special to me as I used to run 10 mins down the road to use this telephone which was in Trinity Square when I was a child, it's since been moved and faithfully preserved. Guernsey's Telephone Museum is now closed due to low visitor numbers. The museum, which had been open since 1978, had more than 2,000 old items but it had fewer than 1,000 visitors per year. In its heyday the museum received 2,264 visitors in one year. The collection will be preserved and shown at a later date
It's sad but true, things have moved on.

I am enjoying showing you a glimpse of 'Typically Guernsey' I hope you are enjoying it, Guernsey is 3 miles by 9 miles it is very small but also has to provide 'life as we know it for approx 60 thousand people' there are areas of country, beautiful beaches all around the Island, beautiful cliff paths, and more built up areas. We have special food, and produce, industrial areas, marinas and harbours, fishing harbours, castles, historic buildings, quaint cottages, some cobbled streets. A pretty town, markets, celebrations and festivals. Lots of restaurants, Historic Churches and buildings, and modern buildings too.
True locals are proud to be called Guernsey Donkeys!
