A new book and the outdoors - Betsy heaven. She is reading A Young Softball Player's Guide to Hitting, Bunting and Baserunning.

It was really lovely for us all today actually, the sun was shining and it was great walk home in some warm, dry sunshine after weeks of rain and chilly weather.

After tea we were able to have an hour of games in the garden, something we haven't done for weeks.

Today I watched Falling in Love while I ploughed through a moutain of ironing. I love that film despite it being essentially rubbish. A guilty pleasure. But Robert De Niro (at his 1984 best), Meryl Streep, Harvey Keitel and Diane Wiest - what possesed four such amazing actors to be in such a limp film? But because they are in it, it isn't limp. Not to me anyway. Meryl Streep is so beautiful and Robert De Niro is so heartbreakingly handsome, how can one resist? It's hilarious when in one scene Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel sit down for lunch, and you expect them to start shooting the place up and swearing at everyone but they just talk about their relationships.
