Don't look if you're squeamish!

To get a work visa in China foreigners need to have a medical check and as work visas are only issued for 12 months this check needs to be redone every year.
In Nanchang there is a special clinic for this and all foreigners who wish to work or study in Nanchang will need to go there.
The check includes a blood test, a chest x-ray, an ultrasound, an ECG, a urine test, a BMI check, blood pressure and an eye-check (including for colour blindness).
This is me having my blood taken, my least favourite part - though it doesn't really hurt much. Most checks are done behind closed doors but this one is done at a little window. You just queue up till it's your turn and while your blood's being taken the queue waits behind you. The nurse was very efficient, but I guess she does it dozens of times a day, conveyor-belt-style.
