The artichoke plants in our garden suffered so badly in the cold weather in February that, although some of them have recovered, I don't think we'll have our usual crop and if we do it will be late. I bought these in the market, with lemons from Spain and garlic from Egypt. I'll cook them with fresh oregano in olive oil and white wine, then add some broad beans from the garden and they'll make a nice first course this evening.
