Don't trigger the ox!

I'm rather fond of these ox/oxen/oxes (is that even what they are?) in the South Asian Gallery at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery.

I couldn't get closer to photograph them because if you go on the other side of this glass case you trigger a sensor which sets off all sorts of mooing sounds, car horns, people shouting and the general hubub of an Indian street for what seems like a lifetime.

I was about to participate in a meeting on this side of the glass case and the two things can't happen at the same time - believe me, I've tried.
