Red-shouldered Hawk

This was taken at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in southern Florida. Red-shouldered Hawks (Buteo lineatus ) are common in Florida. In my view it's one of the most beautiful raptors, as I hope this image suggests.

Corkscrew Swamp is a Florida Audubon Society refuge, featuring "the largest remaining stand of old growth Bald Cypress forest in North America," as the website notes. It's a good place to see these hawks, as well as wood storks (perhaps most notably).
