Room with a view

Ever since my mum told me, when I was a kid, that some other kid got his fingers trapped in a door and lost four fingers, I've been really edgy around doors, windows, heavy lids and anything else that shuts. I don't even know if that story is true.

In this instance, I was not filled with the greatest of confidence that the health and safety of my fingers depended on a polystyrene cup, so I kept well away, admiring the view from a distance.
