Winter Garden Pool

Inside this building (which contains meeting rooms and a university library) is a quiet room they call the Winter Garden. It is a place to meditate or pray, to be quiet, to let all those inner conversations take a break. Most of the stone is black marble or granite. One quarter of the floor is a shallow pool. A fountain, really, because the water is constantly running and spilling over the edge. But it is so flat that it behaves like a black mirror. Around the pool are bamboo plants. Around that are benches on which people can sit or lie down.

I spent a lot of time in this place today. This image does not reflect its beauty, but I think I'll be trying again.

The garden is like an urban beach, if that makes sense. A place of water noise and calmness.
