View from the inside

Most people take pictures of this side , outside the dike but I chose this one because this can be seen from a long distance.

It's a piece of art, representing (from left to right) the waves, the dike and the landscape behind the dike that is protected against the waves.

In the dike is an old floodgate, which is not in use anymore.

Better in LARGE...

I was at Noordpolderzijl, the only tidal harbour in the very north of the Netherlands. (see also this one)
