upper Aosta valley

...today, we completed our drive from Dorset to Tuscany. Day two is always the longer of the two but is compensated for by the amazing scenery as we drive from Champagne through parts of Bourgogne and Jura up through the Rhone Alps and into Italy via the Mont Blanc Tunnel.

The first settlement to be found on the Italian side is the ski resort of Courmayeur, which I chose as the vantage point for today's blip.

I am pleased to say that we are now resting on the terrace of our garden, where we are soaking up the sounds of nature in the late evening sunshine...
