"Look Up!"

That was the word for the evening, for sure! As part of a week-long festival meant to take performances to the streets in Washington, we were treated to something I'd never seen before: vertical dancing.

A dance troop, Project Bandaloop, put on a graceful, modern ballet nearly 300 feet in the air, scaling the iconic Old Post Pavilion in little more than modified rock-climbing gear, dancing on the face of the building -- something the San Fran troop specializes in.

The artistic director, Amelia Rudolph, says the performance is about "how tiny and insignificant we are, and how vast and powerful we can be as a group." And powerful -- as well as amazing, it was.

Here are the rest of the pix for that event.

Happy weekend to all!
