Sad Day for My Tree

My neighbor behind me had been eyeing the Blue Spruces in front of my house. He had seen another neighbor next door cut down his tree and got him thinking about this fella. Everyone didn't like these trees, despite their status being the state tree; they dropped lots of material, their needles kept you from being able to walk on the grass bare footed, and not much could grow underneath them. I didn't have a strong opinion on the matter so we went ahead and started clipping the branches. I do feel kind of bad though... the fella's been there for probably 75-100 years.
