Coffee with The Bard

It was nice to have a day without rain, although threatening at times, the sun prevailed. Apparently we have been officially cleared of drought status, now's there's a relief!

I was cooking this afternoon, Broccoli Risotto Torte, one of my favourites, to be served cold tomorrow lunchtime when our friends are coming over from Derby. I've just taken it out of the oven, and it looks good enough to eat. (Maybe the subject of tomorrow's blip if it still looks OK after turning out onto a serving plate.)

So we went for coffee this morning. As per on a Saturday, everywhere was full, so decided to try a new café that's just opened next door to Shakespeare's Birthplace. It's actually part of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, and is dominated by a brass statue of the man himself. We faced the other way which looked out over the back of the birth place and the garden. The coffee was reasonable, the view interesting (watching the many visitors come, take photos, go) and surprisingly uncrowded. I think we may try here again one day.

This evening we're off to see friends in Evesham so I thought I better get this blip posted.
