A Caracara.

The Caracara is a South American bird of prey related to the falcons but looking a bit like a vulture.

This afternoon I was at a local community event where there was a falconry display. The star of the show was a Harris hawk. This was one of the other stars along with an Eagle owl and Barn owl.

Obviously then this is a captive bird and not in its native environment.
